Laser Hair Removal Program: safe, lasting results for smooth skin and minimal discomfort
Laser hair removal offers a convenient and effective solution for reducing unwanted hair. By targeting hair follicles with advanced laser technology, this non-invasive treatment delivers lasting results with minimal discomfort.
How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
Laser hair removal uses a concentrated beam of light to target melanin (pigment) in the hair. This light delivers intense heat to the hair follicle, damaging it and inhibiting future growth. The process is safe and effective for various skin types and body areas.
Advantages of Laser Hair Removal
- Precision: Targets coarse hairs with high accuracy, leaving the surrounding skin undamaged. Ideal for sensitive areas like the face and bikini line.
- Speed: Each laser pulse treats multiple hairs in a fraction of a second. Small areas like the upper lip can be treated in under a minute, while larger areas like the legs may take up to an hour.
- Predictability: Most clients experience permanent hair reduction after 5 to 10 sessions, enabling planned and consistent results.

How to Prepare for Laser Hair Removal
- Avoid Plucking, Waxing, and Electrolysis: Refrain for at least six weeks before treatment to ensure hair follicles are intact for the laser to target.
- Avoid Sun Exposure: Stay out of the sun for six weeks before and after treatment. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) if exposure is unavoidable.
- Discuss Medication Adjustments: Consult your doctor about any medications, especially blood thinners.
- Shave: Shave the treatment area the day before your appointment. This ensures the laser targets the hair follicles beneath the skin without burning surface hair.
What to Expect During Laser Hair Removal
If necessary, the practitioner will shave the area to ensure that the laser can effectively target the hair follicles without obstruction.
The treatment area will then be cleansed to remove any dirt or oils that could interfere with the laser.
A cooling gel is applied to the skin to protect it and help the laser penetrate more effectively.
The laser device is adjusted according to your skin type, hair color, thickness, and the location of the treatment area. Both you and the practitioner will wear protective eyewear to shield your eyes from the laser light.
During the procedure, you may feel a sensation similar to a warm pinprick. This is the laser’s energy being absorbed by the hair follicles. The laser selectively targets the hair follicles without damaging the surrounding skin. The post-procedure cooling cream and the laser’s cooling device help minimize any discomfort.
Aftercare and Recovery
Immediately after the procedure, the treated area may feel like it’s sunburned. Applying ice packs or anti-inflammatory creams can help soothe any discomfort. Avoid direct sunlight and tanning equipment, as your skin will be more sensitive to UV rays. Using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher will protect the treated area.
Over the next month, treated hair will gradually fall out. During this period, avoid waxing or plucking the treated area. Shaving is acceptable if necessary.
Number of Sessions and Effectiveness
Laser hair removal is most effective during the anagen (growth) phase of the hair cycle when the hair is actively growing. Since not all hairs are in this phase simultaneously, multiple sessions are necessary to treat all hair follicles effectively.
A typical treatment plan consists of 5 to 10 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.
After each session, you will notice a gradual reduction in hair growth, with treated hair becoming finer and lighter. By the end of the treatment plan, most patients experience significant hair reduction, with some achieving permanent hair loss.
